THIS IS MY FIRST PERFORMANCE in Bolivia, thanks to the organizers of Noche Blanca who generously accomodated me even when my application to participate came in at a late date.

       This was soon after our arrival in La Paz. This is not my longest piece, so far, but it is the one that, again so far, will have the longest screen time, mainly because spoken text is a central to the work.

       It cannot be edited, for the sake of brevity, a god in the altar of the internet, and still keep the sense of the work.

       The sense of this work, like most of my works, are multiple and works in several layers.

       The base layer, however, is the freely admitted ignorance of Bolivian culture, the history of which, I am only beginning to scratch the surface of.

       Even so, using the pollera as a bridge towards understanding, constitutes the core intent of this work.

       At the same time, it also encourages a reflexiveness in appreciating one's culture in the midst of other cultures.

       I had wanted to include subtitles in the video but that is still beyond my rudimentary skills as a video editor.
